Heart Disease and Stroke is an initiative of the American Diabetes Association and the American College of Cardiology, aimed at increasing awareness of the link between diabetes and heart disease.

Make the Link! stresses that diabetes management is more than control of blood glucose. People with diabetes must also manage blood pressure and cholesterol and talk to their health provider to learn about other ways to reduce their chance for heart attacks and stroke.

For People with Diabetes and Their Loved Ones
In this section, you will learn how you can prevent heart attacks and stroke. Read the new Diabetes Survival Guide, a resource to help you make good choices and learn what you need to know to take care of your diabetes. You can also view Link for Life starring Type 2 Lou, a fun, interactive program filled with practical tips and valuable information. Link for Life is available in both English & Spanish.
