an old painting of the darbar. we saw a similar version of the darbar in the early 60's during our holidays in lahore, it kept changing hues till zia ul haq ordered action on the ayub khans 'revamp' and we have what we have today. but i wish the designers had built the new complex round the original building - but maybe that would not have been progress?
